Sophisticated heat treatment at RENK.

RENK has many years of in-depth experience in the heat treatment of gear unit parts and drive components which are subject to exceptional conditions under high permanent stress and extreme peak loads. In addition to the products it manufactures, RENK’s hardening shop in Augsburg also processes components for external companies in a wide range of industrial sectors. An average of 6,000 metric tons of steel are processed in the furnaces in Augsburg each year.

Based on nearly 130 years of experience in the construction of gear units, the focal point of RENK's heat treatment services is the handling of toothed parts as well as components used in the fields of mechanical and plant engineering. RENK’s hardening shop also handles components from the automotive industry and aviation industries, as well as other sectors. The hardening shop operates a total of 25 heat treatment systems consisting of shaft and chamber furnaces, five oil baths with a total capacity of more than 150,000 liters of oil, six cleaning systems, as well as four blasting units and straightening presses on an area measuring approximately 2,500 square meters.
